Matthew is the Director of Interactive Product & Marketing at The Corcoran Group -- New York

Question -- You have over 65,000 plus people on Facebook, how long have you been on Facebook? (They have a lot more now.. check it out here)
We've been on Facebook just over 4 years.

Is that where you started with social media?
We didn't start social with Facebook. We were a bit late to the party with Facebook. We were big embracers of Twitter. Twitter was the first thing we ever did on social, really because we had a customer service problem with our website, we couldn't talk to people on our website. http://www.corcoran.com

We were very much marketing a presence of transparency and openness and ask us anything..... However we weren't really living that online. So Twitter actually solved that problem for us in terms of being able to open the door to communicate - so we started that with Twitter.
(Follow the Corcoran Group on Twitter)

What happened was that we started to share all this different content and have different conversations. We then ended up with a curation problem. That we wanted to create a product around this idea taken from the best of Twitter. Because ulitmatily what we do on Twitter, we do on Facebook.
We post one thing everyday, no matter what that day is.. holidays, birthdays or whatever. Every single day we post something.
It's the best of what we do on Twitter.

Take home message from Matthew -
Aim to converse openly with your target market.
Promote transparency within your agency.

Oh the drama! Super Ads go epic

This undated screenshot provided by Taco Bell shows the Super Bowl advertisement for Taco Bell. Gone are the days when Super Bowl spots were closely-guarded secrets. With the growth of social media sites like Facebook and Twitter, it's no surprise that more advertisers like Taco Bell are releasing ads online up to a week or more before Game Day. (AP Photo/Taco Bell)

(AP) ? Super Bowl ads this year morphed into mini soap operas.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson shrugged off aliens so he could get more milk for his kids in a Super Bowl spot for the Milk Processor Education Program. Anheuser-Busch's commercial told the story of a Clydesdale colt growing up and returning to his owner for a heartfelt hug years later. And a Jeep ad portrayed the trials and triumphs of people waiting for the return of their family members.

The reason for all the drama off the field? With 30-second spots going for as much as $4 million and more than 111 million viewers expected to tune in, marketers are constantly looking for ways to make their ads stand out. And it's increasingly difficult to captivate viewers with short-form plots involving babies, celebrities, sex and humor ? unless there's a compelling story attached.

"A lot of advertisers are running long commercials to tell these stories that engage people often in a very emotional way," said Tim Calkins, clinical professor of marketing at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern. "These spots that tell stories really stand out in the clutter."

TEAR-JERKING MINI EPICS

Chrysler started the long-format commercial trend last year, with a two-minute spot starring Clint Eastwood that became very popular.

This year, Chrysler led the trend again with its two-minute salute to troops and their families. The ad featured Oprah Winfrey reading a letter from the Jeep brand to encourage families to stay hopeful.

Wendy Ochoa, a high school teacher who lives in Novi, Mich., said the ad was very emotional. "It tugs on your heartstrings," Ochoa, 44, said. "How can it not?"

Anheuser-Busch also pulled at heartstrings with a spot about a Clydesdale colt growing up and moving away from his farm and his trainer who raised him from birth. Years later, the trainer drives to Chicago to see the horse in a parade. The horse spots his trainer and gallops toward him, nuzzling him fondly as the trainer hugs him.

"The Budweiser commercial with the Clydesdale made me cry," said Wendy Ponzo, 49, who was watching the game in Pont Pleasant, N.J.

USER-INSPIRED TALES

Lincoln's 90-second ad was inspired by tweets by fans about road trips. The company asked people to send their stories, and Jimmy Fallon, host of NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," decided on which tales would be used.

The ad, which was based on more than 6,000 tweets from fans, shows adventures during a fictional road trip. A woman picks up a German hitchhiker, and they go to an alpaca farm, get stopped by turtles crossing the road, and drive through a movie set.

Rap pioneer Joseph "Rev Run" Simmons and Wil Wheaton, who acted in "Star Trek: The Next Generation," made cameos in the spot.

Coca-Cola created an ad based on an online campaign that pit three groups ? a troupe of showgirls, biker style badlanders and cowboys ? against each other in a race through a desert for a Coke.

Starting Jan. 23 and continuing through the end of the Super Bowl, viewers voted online for their favorite group. The group with the most votes ? the showgirls ? was revealed when the Super Bowl ended.

Audi also went with an ad that told a story ? and was inspired by viewers. The company's 60-second ad featured an ending that was voted on by viewers prior to the game.

In the ad, a boy gains confidence from driving his father's Audi to the prom, kisses the prom queen once he arrives at the dance and gets decked by the prom king. In the end, he drives back home with a smile on his face.

The Audi mini-epic was a favorite of Super Bowl viewer Stephanie Bice, 39, a business development director in Oklahoma City.

"It was fun and whimsical," Bice said.

COMEDY GOES LONG

Not all of the storytelling ads were dramatic, though.

Samsung's two-minute ad showed Seth Rogen ("The Guilt Trip") and Paul Rudd ("Role Models") getting called in to do a "Next Big Thing" ad for Samsung. But they're agitated once they realize that they're sharing the spotlight. LeBron James, an NBA basketball player for the Miami Heat, makes a cameo, appearing on the screen of a tablet.

The ad won over some fans in the ad world.

"I could watch the Samsung ad over and over again," said David Berkowitz, vice president at digital marketing agency 360i. "It's as good as any Seth Rogen movie."

Budweiser, a long-time Super Bowl advertiser, also told a continuing story in two of its ads. One showed rival 49ers and Ravens fans each creating a voodoo doll for the other team with the help of R&B legend Stevie Wonder. In the other ad, fans go to great lengths to curse a rival fan's "lucky chair."

"It's only weird if it doesn't work," the words in the ad read.

Mercedes-Benz's 90-second ad had a Faustian plot.

A devilish Willem Dafoe ("Spider-Man") shows a man everything that comes with a Mercedes-Benz CLX: A date with supermodel Kate Upton, dancing with Usher, driving around with beautiful girls, getting on the cover of magazines including Vanity Fair and GQ, getting to drive on a racetrack.

The man almost signs his soul away for the car. But then he sees a billboard that says the car starts at $29,900, and doesn't sign.

NOT EVERY AD TELLS A STORY

Although many advertisers tried to pull people in with lengthy story lines, there were a few that stuck with short, quirky spots with no particular plot.

GoDaddy.com's ad was one of them. It showed a close up, extended kiss between supermodel Bar Refaeli and a nerdy guy wearing glasses to illustrate GoDaddy's combo of "sexy" and "smart."

Some viewers thought the ad was too explicit for the Super Bowl.

"I don't care who wins the game. I just don't want to see that commercial again, ever," said Stephen G. Smith, 63, an editor at The Washington Times in Washington, D.C.

Stephanie Malone from DeKalb, Ill., agreed: "GoDaddy should be ashamed."

Striking a less controversial note, Best Buy's 30-second ad in the first quarter starred Amy Poehler, of NBC's "Parks and Recreation," asking a Best Buy employee endless questions about electronics.

"Will this one read '50 Shades of Grey' to me in a sexy voice?" Poehler asks about an e-book reader. Then, when the staffer says no she asks, "Will you?"

M&M's spot showed its red spokescharacter singing Meatloaf's "I Would Do Anything For Love," and wooing beautiful women. But the M&M stopped short when the women try to eat him.

And Oreo's ad featured a showdown in a library between people fighting over whether the cookie or the cream is the best part of the cookie. The punch-line? The fight escalates into thrown chairs and other destruction, but because the fight is in a library, everyone still has to whisper.

The ad directed users to follow Oreo on Instagram photo-sharing site, where they could continue the "cookie vs. cream" debate. Meanwhile, Oreo was quick to capitalize on the blackout that hit the game for about 30 minutes in the third quarter. It tweeted a picture of an Oreo in the half-dark with the words: "You can still dunk in the dark."

Pregnant woman shaves head as she begins chemo for breast cancer

Michelle Lang-Schock cringed as her mother slowly eased electric clippers through her shoulder-length hair.

Locks of red tumbled to the kitchen floor of her Wadsworth home as her closest friends and family members gathered around her for support.

Pregnant and battling breast cancer, Michelle has little control over the changes happening to her body. So rather than wait for the chemotherapy drugs to make her bald, Michelle threw a shaving party in December to lose her hair on her own terms a couple weeks after her first cancer treatment.

Her mom, Lin Lang Tyler, a barber from Urbana, trimmed her hair to the scalp before her brother, Adam Lang, used his expertise from shaving his own head to make sure hers was smooth and itch-free.

?You don?t need hair to be pretty,? her mom told her.

Michelle averted her eyes from a mirror that her friend Connie Lawless was holding.

?Is this really happening?? she asked. ?I don?t want to look.?

?Now you look like an old man,? Lawless joked.

?Can I do a comb-over?? Michelle replied with a laugh, dramatically flipping a few remaining strands on top of her hairless scalp.

But in the solitude of darkness later that night, her laughter faded to tears.

She could hide her missing breast under clothes with a fake one, but the bald head was impossible for her to ignore.

?This is HARD, shocking and just plain SUCKS!!? she shared in a Facebook post the next morning. ?Many tears, my friends, many tears. :( I am soooo over this and wish it was a year from now so I can be whole again. See I am not as strong as you all think.?

With a mixture of laughter and tears, Michelle, 41, and her husband of nine months, Harry Schock, 53, are fighting to save her life while anticipating the birth of their first child together in May.

Michelle, or ?Missey? as many of her friends and family members call her, was diagnosed with breast cancer in October, shortly after discovering she was pregnant. Had the cancer not been detected, it likely would have continued to grow silently and spread, fueled by the hormones of her pregnancy.

Michelle?s cancer journey started when she found a lump in her right breast a few months after she and Harry got married.

An ultrasound confirmed the lump in her right breast was a harmless, fatty tumor. But a follow-up appointment with a breast specialist revealed a barely visible dimpling in the other breast that turned out to be cancer.

Michelle and Harry quickly agreed to fight to beat the cancer while preserving the life of their unborn child.

Chemo begins

About a month after having her left breast removed, Michelle had her first chemo treatment at Parkview Center, Summa Barberton Hospital?s cancer center.

Her oncologist, Dr. Sandra Hazra, decided to treat her stage IIB breast cancer with two chemotherapy agents ? Adriamycin and Cytoxan ? administered six times every three weeks until about a month and a half before her scheduled delivery date May 9.

The cancer team consulted with Michelle's high-risk obstetrician, Dr. John W. Stewart, to determine which medications could be safely used during pregnancy to treat nausea, constipation and other potential side effects from the chemotherapy.

The chemo would be dosed based on Michelle?s pre-pregnancy weight to avoid increasing the amount as the baby grew.

Her mother and her aunt, Cheri Howard, agreed to take turns making the 2?-hour trip from Urbana in western Ohio to take her to her appointments and stay with her afterward in case she needed help.

On the morning of her first treatment in late November, her aunt brought a bag full of ?chemo caps? she knitted for the Parkview Center staff to share with other patients.

Harry couldn?t be there. He was taking his driving test to officially start his new job as a long-distance truck driver after being unemployed since losing his job as a restaurant manager in the summer. (Because the couple were unemployed, Michelle's pregnancy and cancer care are being covered by Medicaid.)

Michelle was in her 14th week of her pregnancy ? far enough into the second trimester, doctors agreed, to minimize any risks to her baby.

?The unknown is the worst part,? registered nurse Veronica Shea told her. ?Once you get over this first time, it becomes less scary.?

Michelle watched as Shea hooked up the first medicine to a port in her arm.

?I?m feeling it,? she told her aunt a few minutes later. ?It?s like a cool sensation.?

Halfway through, her nose became stuffy and her eyes started to water ? side effects, she learned, from the chemo.

That evening, Harry surprised her by coming home a day early from his new job. He stayed by her side when one of her anti-nausea drugs gave her a migraine, leaving her in tears.

Baby still healthy

Several days later, she went to Stewart?s office on the Akron General Medical Center campus for a checkup. The image on the ultrasound screen reassured her that her baby was active, apparently unfazed by the first dose of chemo.

?Once the baby?s organs are formed, because they?re not growing as rapidly as a cancer, the baby is not affected,? Stewart explained. ?Even if it does cross the placenta, it is OK.?

A breast cancer diagnosis while expecting is rare, occurring in a range estimated by the American Cancer Society at one in every 1,000 to one in every 10,000 pregnancies.

Studies have shown that chemotherapy use during the second or third trimesters doesn?t increase the incidence of birth defects, according to a recent report in the Annals of Oncology.

Likewise, the report said, pregnancies don?t jeopardize breast cancer patients, who have stage-specific survival rates similar to non-pregnant women if treatment courses are the same.

When Michelle gets down about her cancer fight, the fluttering of her baby picks her up. In a few months, she reminds herself, her unexpected but welcome addition will join a blended family that includes her sons, Jacob, 20, and Max, 9; her daughter, Isabella, ?Bella,? 6; Harry?s daughter, Alaina, 17; and his son, Trevor, 8.

Emotional support

Along with relying on family and friends, Michelle is getting emotional support for herself and her children from Stewart?s Caring Place, a nonprofit agency in Fairlawn that provides free services for people with cancer and their loved ones.

A counselor at Stewart?s Caring Place meets with Bella and Max to make sure they are coping with their mother?s illness, especially after losing their father in a house fire several years ago.

From the day she was diagnosed with cancer, Michelle has been up front with her children ?? something the therapist quickly recognized and appreciated.

?My mom is going to lose another boob next summer,? Bella announced during a counseling session, referring to Michelle?s plans to have her breast removed after the baby is born as a preventive measure.

The day after shaving off her hair, Michelle joined eight other area women who also are battling cancer at the support center for a free makeover through Look Good Feel Better. The national program brings together beauty professionals who volunteer their time to teach women who are undergoing chemotherapy and radiation techniques to manage appearance-related side effects, such as dry skin and hair loss.

The women joked and laughed as they traded cosmetics from their free goody bags and compared application styles.

Michelle agreed to serve as the model when Dee Curry, a Look Good Feel Better volunteer and owner of Wigs on Wheels, showed the group different wig styles, as well as ways to wear hats and scarves.

?Now we just got to see if there?s a big, long, red-haired wig,? Michelle said. ?I?m missing the red hair.?

Physical pain

Though Michelle tried to remain optimistic, her second round of chemotherapy the week before Christmas didn?t go as well as the first. Several hours after leaving the cancer center, her mom had to rush her to Akron General Medical Center with intense abdominal pain and contractions.

After getting fluids to ease her symptoms, she was sent home with orders to rest and drink plenty of water.

The next week, the couple and their children crowded into the exam room at Dr. Stewart?s office on Christmas Eve morning to catch a glimpse of the baby and, hopefully, discover the gender.

Afterward, Michelle shared their big news with family and friends by sending the ultrasound photo with a text message: ?IT?S A GIRL!!!?

Michelle and Harry started calling the baby by the name they?d already picked for a girl: Charlie, short for Lillian Charolette.

In the weeks that followed, Bella practiced her reading by snuggling next to Michelle, placing her small hand on her mom?s swelling belly and reciting the words to her baby sister.

Harry spent a couple of his weekends painting the nursery different shades of pink in preparation for Charlie?s arrival in early May.

Michelle tried to keep active, not wanting to let her kids down. But with each treatment, her symptoms grew worse.

After her third course in early January, Michelle suffered lingering nausea, fatigue, a mouth sore and numbness in her fingers and arms.

Several days before her fourth treatment last week, she ended up on bed rest after another emergency trip to Akron General for contractions. She blamed it on stress from her car breaking down, leaving the couple with a $1,500 repair bill they couldn?t afford.

When she had a moment of weakness, Harry lovingly reminded her she had to stay strong.

?You can?t lose your faith.?

Photonics: On track for downsizing

Jan. 31, 2013 ? The ability to miniaturize photonics devices to sizes compatible with computer chips inches closer.

Optical communications, or photonics, technology has failed to match the miniaturization of electronic components, mainly because of fundamental laws of classical optics. The smallest photonic devices are limited to sizes of at least a micrometer. Researchers from the A*STAR Institute of Microelectronics (IME) in Singapore have now realized a device design that beats such size restrictions and can be easily integrated into a silicon chip1.

Using so-called 'plasmonic techniques', the researchers, led by Shiyang Zhu at the IME, demonstrated optical resonator structures, which allow a beam of light to circulate in a closed path, that can be used as on-off switches for light. The device is based on plasmonic effects that guide the light along the surface of the metal. "The performance of our devices is comparable to the best reported results for related plasmonic resonators," says Zhu.

Conventional optical instruments, such as lenses, modify light as it passes through them. Plasmonic structures, however, act more like antennae that amplify light as it moves along their surface. Plasmonic features are typically created using metals such as gold or silver. However, integrating these noble metals with silicon chips is not only expensive, but also requires techniques that are incompatible with established silicon processing techniques.

As a workaround, Zhu and co-workers used copper to generate the desired plasmonic effects. Copper is widely used as electronic wires in silicon computer chips, and it has an established track record in the computer industry. The researchers built their plasmonic resonator devices from two copper structures that guide light along them -- a long wire adjacent to a circle (see image). The smallest width of the copper circuit is only about 180 nanometers, which is much smaller than conventional light guides.

The closeness of the wire and the circle is critical for efficient device operation. When light of a specific wavelength, which is determined by the dimensions of the circle, passes through the wire, some of it can leak into the circle where it becomes trapped. Light can only pass through the structure if it does not match the resonance wavelength of the circle.

The wavelength at which this resonance occurs is very sensitive to parameters such as temperature. In the future, this sensitivity in the circuits could be harnessed for use as switches that control how light passes through the wire, says Zhu. "The next step is to design and demonstrate active plasmonic devices, such as thermo-optic switchers and high-speed electro-optic modulators."

Sylvester Stallone Supports Gun Control: 'Bullet To The Head' Star Doesn't See Value In Assault Weapons

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. ? Sylvester Stallone says that despite his "Rambo" image and new shoot-em-up film "Bullet to the Head," he's in favor of new national gun control legislation.

Stallone supported the 1994 "Brady bill" that included a now-expired ban on assault weapons, and hopes that ban can be reinstated.

"I know people get (upset) and go, `They're going to take away the assault weapon.' Who ... needs an assault weapon? Like really, unless you're carrying out an assault. ... You can't hunt with it. ... Who's going to attack your house, a (expletive) army?"

The 66-year-old actor, writer and director said he also hopes for an additional focus on mental health to prevent future mass shootings.

"It's unbelievably horrible, what's happened. I think the biggest problem, seriously, is not so much guns. It's that every one of these people that have done these things in the past 30 years are friggin' crazy. Really crazy! And that's where we've dropped the ball: mental health," he said. "That to me is our biggest problem in the future, is insanity coupled with isolation."

Stallone is now in production on his next project, pairing up with the former "Raging Bull" Robert De Niro for "Grudge Match," about two aging boxers.

"People think it's going to be some geezer brawl. Really? OK, they're in for a surprise. I'm telling you. I've been working on the fight, the choreography. He's taking it deadly serious. Because no one wants to be shown up," Stallone said of De Niro. "It's going to be like a `Rocky' fight. This will be `Rocky 7,' with me fighting ? with Rocky fighting the `Raging Bull.'"

Copywriter John Forde said it perfectly in an email I received today ? ?What your customer really wants is to be the hero of his own story.? He credits Bill Bonner for the idea, but I say it?s as old as time because cavemen grunted out stories to impress and harass each other, and we?re all still doing the same thing today with the benefit of modern language and digital communication.

Even without grunting and wielding thick sticks to emphasize our main points we had better be good at storytelling and information marketing in order to succeed. Knowing the only story that truly interests your clients and customers is THEIR OWN STORY is a big step towards gaining and maintaining the focus you need to create your information products in the first place.

Storytelling And Information Marketing

Storytelling And Information Marketing

Starting your writing and speaking with your own stories can be a good introductory technique, but it had better lead quickly to the story your readers and listeners most want to hear. It?s the story that answers the question, ?What?s in this for me??? The acronym WIIFM represents that question and it is the perfect reminder of what we need to remember when we create and market info products, when we speak to audiences and even when we communicate one-on-one.

We are all overgrown toddlers with an insatiable desire to make the world respond to our needs and wants. If you have ever told stories to small children, you know they absolutely DELIGHT in hearing their own name woven into stories told aloud. ?That?s pretty much the way it works for all of us, all the time.

Fireworks truck explodes; China highway collapses

A truck transporting fireworks ahead of Chinese new year celebrations exploded on a highway in central China, destroying a bridge and killing dozens. Angus Walker, for NBC News, reports.

By Alastair Jamieson, Staff writer, NBC News

A truck carrying fireworks ahead of Chinese New Year celebrations exploded and destroyed part of an elevated highway in China's Henan Province, killing several people, state media reported.

The blast sent vehicles plummeting 100 feet to the ground, state media said.

A 260-foot section of road was damaged, the BBC reported.

China National Radio said 26 people were killed, while the Xinhua News Agency reported only four deaths but said search and rescue efforts were continuing, The Associated Press reported.

Rescuers look for survivors near the wreckage of vehicles after a truck carrying fireworks exploded and caused a bridge to partially collapse on the Lianhuo highway in Mianchi County, Henan Province on Friday.

The explosion happened early Friday on a major east-west highway in Mianchi county, about 55 miles west of Luoyang, the AP said.

Pictures from state broadcaster CCTV showed rescuers digging through rubble in the aftermath of the accident.

In 2006, a storeroom of fireworks exploded at a temple fair in Henan, killing 36 people and injuring dozens more, the Daily Telegraph said.

Vimeo introduces content ratings for videos, keeps its platform in check

Vimeo's certainly made its presence felt inside multiple media-delivery mezzanines, but the video service isn't forgetting all about the basics: its own platform. As such, Vimeo today announced some more changes to its website, which will see the introduction of a content rating system for published videos. The most recent alterations, as seen in the picture above, add an assessed rating badge to a user's video, making it a requirement to brand any uploads as "All Audiences," "Mature," or "Not Yet Rated." According to Vimeo, these content ratings are "the first step along a path that will make Vimeo more accessible to more audiences," adding that sometimes it's a a good idea to let folks know "if a face is going to explode or if someone is going to take their jean shorts off."

In Little Canada man's deputy videotape case, charges altered

Andrew Henderson's attorneys say they will seek to have charges dropped against their client. Henderson was charged after filming Ramsey County deputies making an arrest in the parking lot of his Little Canada apartment building. (Pioneer Press: John Doman)

The city of Little Canada has revised the charges against a man whose video camera was taken by a county sheriff's deputy, attorneys said after a hearing Wednesday, Jan. 30, in Ramsey County District Court in Maplewood.

Prosecutors dropped a charge of obstructing legal process against Andrew Joseph Henderson, who recorded an incident involving an injured man outside Henderson's apartment building.

In its place, they added a charge of interfering with or obstructing a member of an ambulance crew, a violation of state law that is rarely applied.

A charge of disorderly conduct was unchanged.

Henderson's attorney, John Lundquist, told Judge Salvador Rosas at the hearing that he would be filing a motion to dismiss the charges. A trial date was set for May 20.

Henderson, 28, was sitting on a bench outside his building's front door the night of Oct. 30 as a man with a bloodied face was patted down by deputies and loaded into an ambulance, he said. The bench is about 30 feet from the curb where the ambulance was parked.

In the revised complaint, prosecutors disputed portions of Henderson's account.

"(Henderson) videotaped the medical assessment from approximately three to five feet from (the victim) and (a paramedic)," the complaint said.

The injured man "became uncomfortable when he observed Henderson videotaping while he was being loaded into the ambulance and asked the paramedics to stop the individual from videotaping him," the complaint said.

One

paramedic asked Henderson to put the camera away, but he refused, the complaint said. The paramedic had to stop attending to the man so that he could walk over to Deputy Jacqueline Muellner, who was writing a report in her squad car, and ask for her assistance, according to the complaint.

"Henderson engaged in offensive conduct tending reasonably to arouse alarm, anger, or resentment in (the victim) when he intentionally videotaped the medical assessment, knowing or having reasonable grounds to know that it alarmed or disturbed (the man)," the complaint said.

Muellner approached Henderson and took the camera out of his hands. "If I end up on YouTube, I'm gonna be upset," she said.

Henderson said he was within his rights to record the incident.

He eventually got the camera back, with no recording on it. He believes it was erased.

The revised complaint adds details from the state about what prompted the deputies' presence at the apartment building that night.

According to the new charges:

Ramsey County dispatchers received a call the night of the incident from a Wisconsin woman. She could not reach her brother and was worried about him, she said. He was an alcoholic, had recently been in a car accident, was arrested for drunken driving and had quit his job.

The man was identified only by his initials in the complaint.

Deputies went to the Little Canada apartment building in the 200 block of East County Road B2 and knocked on the man's door.

He answered, saying he was "into his second liter of vodka," the complaint said.

"(He) was void of emotion and had a bruised face, which he said was from his traffic accident," the complaint said. He agreed to go to the hospital. Deputies called an ambulance.

Lundquist, Henderson's attorney, is a private defense attorney with Fredrikson & Byron in Minneapolis who is providing his services free of charge, along with co-counsel Kevin Riach of the firm and Teresa Nelson of the American Civil Liberties Union of Minnesota.

The defense contends that Henderson had a legal right to be present in a public area and to record the surroundings, including law enforcement.

The firm of Kelly & Lemmons is prosecuting Henderson on behalf of the city of Little Canada.
